The salary range for this position is $34.50 - $55.20 (Hourly Rate)
Placement within the salary range is dependent on several factors such as relevant work experience and internal equity. At Northwestern Medicine Palos Hospital, we believe that a smooth transition from the ER to inpatient care is crucial for optimal patient outcomes. Our ER Transitional Care department is dedicated to ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care, with a focus on safety, comfort, and a seamless transition to the next phase of their medical journey.
As a Registered Nurse in this department, you would work with patients who are being held in the ER while they wait to move inpatient. You would provide a high quality of care to these patients through monitoring, performing skin assessments, running drips, and a variety of other nursing skills. You would also float to the inpatient side and assist with discharges. We are seeking nurses with a strong background in Telemetry or Med Surg for this position.*We currently have full time night shift (7pm-7:30am) and full-time mid shift (11am-11:30pm available). Rotating weekends and holidays required.

The registered professional nurse assumes accountability and responsibility for the individualized, age-specific care of a patient along the continuum from admission to discharge. She/He gives direct care to assigned patients and assists with other patient care when necessary. The registered professional nurse’s decisions and actions on behalf of the patient/family are determined in an ethical manner. She/He collects and analyzes the assessment data in determining nursing diagnoses, collaborates with the patient/family and other health care team members, develops a plan of care to attain realistic outcomes, provides education founded on evidence-based practice, and systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
