Job Description

Distinguished private household is seeking an exceptional full-time Personal Fitness Trainer to join their team in Highland Mills, NY. This is a rare opportunity for a highly skilled, discreet, and service-oriented fitness professional to provide bespoke wellness programming in a private residential setting. The ideal candidate will bring a refined approach to health and fitness, with the ability to seamlessly integrate into a formal household while delivering world-class, personalized training and wellness support.

This role extends beyond traditional personal training, requiring a candidate who can thoughtfully contribute to the overall wellness lifestyle of the property. The Personal Trainer will serve as a trusted partner in promoting long-term health, vitality, and balance for principals, family members, and guests, while maintaining the highest standards of discretion and professionalism. A key component of this role includes providing elevated, hospitality-driven fitness experiences for guests, including consultations, short-term programming, and tailored sessions that reflect a five-star standard of service.

This is a full-time position with a typical schedule of Monday through Friday, with overriding flexibility for later hours and weekends as needed, based on the household’s dynamic schedule and lifestyle. This position requires a candidate who can seamlessly balance elite-level fitness expertise with the discretion, professionalism, and emotional intelligence required in a high-profile private household. The ideal individual will be deeply committed to health and wellness while maintaining a calm, positive, and unobtrusive presence.

The position offers the opportunity to work within a well-supported, high-functioning household environment, alongside an established team of professionals. The household values collaboration, mutual respect, and a cohesive team dynamic, and seeks a candidate who is a true team player; someone who integrates seamlessly, communicates effectively, and contributes positively to the overall culture of the household. The ideal individual will be highly adaptable, proactive, and solutions-oriented, with the ability to anticipate needs and operate with a high level of discretion and emotional intelligence.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Design and implement customized fitness programs tailored to the individual goals, preferences, and medical considerations of principals, family members, and guests
  • Provide one-on-one and small group training sessions, including strength training, cardiovascular conditioning, flexibility, and mobility work
  • Conduct guest fitness consultations, assessing goals, preferences, and any physical limitations to deliver highly personalized, short-term training experiences
  • Deliver elevated, hospitality-level fitness sessions for guests, ensuring a seamless, engaging, and professional experience aligned with a luxury environment
  • Develop and oversee holistic wellness plans, incorporating recovery, stretching, and injury prevention techniques
  • Monitor progress, track performance metrics, and adjust programs to ensure optimal results
  • Collaborate with nutritionists, physical therapists, and other wellness professionals as needed
  • Maintain and manage on-site fitness facilities and equipment, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and proper functioning at all times
  • Prepare fitness spaces in advance of guest arrivals, ensuring equipment, amenities, and environments meet a five-star standard
  • Offer guidance on lifestyle habits that support overall health, including sleep, hydration, and general wellness practices
  • Provide motivation, encouragement, and accountability in a professional, polished, and intuitive manner
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion at all times

Requirements:

  • Strong command of English language; outstanding writing and verbal skills
  • Excellent references from both current and former employers
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as a Personal Trainer, preferably within private households, luxury hospitality settings, or with UHNW individuals
  • Nationally recognized personal training certification required (NASM, ACE, NSCA, or equivalent); advanced certifications strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in multiple training modalities (strength, functional training, corrective exercise, mobility, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and injury prevention
  • Experience delivering high-touch, client-facing service with an emphasis on personalization and discretion
  • Experience working with a diverse range of clients, including varying fitness levels, age groups, and short-term guest engagement
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a respectful, communicative, and adaptable approach
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly build rapport and trust with principals, family members, and guests
  • Ability to integrate seamlessly into an established household staff and contribute positively to team culture and dynamics
  • MUST be a team player who is collaborative and supportive and can work with range of personalities
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with the ability to anticipate needs and deliver a seamless, elevated experience
  • Physically fit and able to demonstrate exercises with proper form
  • CPR/AED certification required
  • Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
