Job Description



The Parking Lot Attendant supports the Security Department by managing vehicle access and traffic flow within parking areas impacted by the solar project. This role is essential to maintaining safe and efficient operations during a period of reduced parking capacity and increased congestion.

This position provides a visible presence, ensures authorized access, and assist with traffic direction to employees, guests and contractors. This is a temporary position until September 15th, 2026 , fixed post role with a clearly defined scope of responsibilities.

Hourly rate: $28.43

What you will be doing:

  • Monitor and control vehicle access with in the main parking areas impacted by the solar project.
  • Direct traffic and assist employees, contractors, and guest in locating available parking
  • Mitigate congestion and support safe vehicle and pedestrian movement
  • Maintain an organized and controlled parking environment throughout the shift
  • Verify authorized access for employees, guest and vendors as needed.
  • Observe and report safety hazards, suspicious activity, or operational concerns
  • Escalate incidents of concerns to the security team as appropriate
  • Ensure compliance with safety practices in an active construction environment
  • Provide clear directions and general property information
  • Maintain a professional, approachable presence at all times
  • Communicate effectively with leadership regarding traffic flow and issues.
  • Deliver a high level of guest service while managing a high traffic environment.

Scope & Limitations

  • Assigned to a specific parking lot or access point impacted by construction
  • Does not respond to calls for service or incidents outside assigned area
  • All enforcement, safety, or security incidents are escalated to Security team

Schedule: Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, employees are required to work varying schedules, including overnight, weekends and holidays, to accommodate the business and demands of the hotel.

Qualifications



Your experience and skills include:

  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to remain alert and manage high-traffic environment
  • Ability to follow direction and enforce access control procedures
  • Basic understanding of safety practices in active work zones preferred
  • Previous security or traffic control experience preferred
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the English language clearly to facilitate effective communications with colleagues and leaders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively facilitate training sessions, workshops and group discussions.
  • Be detail-oriented in a fast paced, high-volume environment.
  • Strong time management skills
  • Must have ability to work independently and to prioritize or seek clarification in prioritizing work assignments.

Licenses or Certificates:

  • State of Hawaii Guard Card (*required prior to start date)
  • Valid Driver's License required (*required prior to start date)
  • Clean Drivers Abstract required (*required prior to start date)

Education:

  • High School Diploma
