Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Pain Management Physician to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive pain management care using advanced, evidence-based techniques to diagnose and treat acute and chronic pain conditions. You will collaborate closely with clinical teams to enhance patient comfort, recovery, and overall quality of life within a practice committed to clinical excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including detailed medical histories and physical examinations, to identify pain sources and develop personalized treatment plans.
  • Utilize advanced medical imaging techniques such as CT scans and diagnostic radiology to assist in accurate diagnosis.
  • Administer interventional procedures including nerve blocks, epidural injections, radiofrequency ablations, and botulinum toxin treatments to alleviate pain.
  • Manage complex cases involving acute pain management, post-operative pain control, and chronic pain syndromes across outpatient settings.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including psychiatry, neurology, orthopedics, and physical therapy to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Maintain detailed electronic health records (EHR systems) such as Epic or other EMR systems for documentation, treatment planning, and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Educate patients on pain management strategies, including health coaching and lifestyle modifications to promote self-care.
  • Participate in clinical research initiatives or quality improvement projects aimed at advancing pain management practices.
  • Ensure adherence to all safety protocols including aseptic techniques during procedures and infection control measures.
  • Stay current with the latest developments in pain medicine, pharmacology, and interventional radiology through continuous education.

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification or eligibility in Pain Medicine or Anesthesiology with subspecialty training in pain management.
  • Valid medical license to practice within the state or country of employment.
  • Proven experience in acute care settings such as hospitals or Level I Trauma Centers is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with EHR systems like Epic or similar EMR platforms; experience with medical imaging interpretation is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of physiology related to pain pathways and neuroanatomy.
  • Hands-on experience with interventional radiology procedures including nerve blocks and catheterizations.
  • Familiarity with medical coding (CPT/ICD) for billing purposes related to pain management services.
  • Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining high standards of patient care.
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification; additional certifications such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are advantageous.
