POSITION SUMMARY:

Compass Resorts is seeking an experienced, hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead our talented team in Destin, FL. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of property maintenance, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service. In this role, you’ll guide and support the maintenance team, oversee daily operations, and ensure all homes are safe, well-maintained, and ready for guest arrivals.

You’ll develop preventative maintenance strategies, conduct regular property inspections, coordinate repair work, and step in on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance tasks when needed. This role requires someone who can manage vendors, maintain accurate documentation, and collaborate closely with housekeeping, guest services, and owner relations to resolve issues quickly. Your proactive approach and attention to detail will help protect our assets and contribute to the exceptional guest experience Compass Resorts is known for.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead, train, and support the maintenance team to ensure efficient daily operations and top-tier work quality.
  • Coordinate maintenance schedules, assign tasks, and oversee completion of work orders in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive preventative maintenance program to reduce downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to identify repair needs, safety risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Oversee and perform repairs related to HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, and general property maintenance when needed.
  • Ensure all work meets safety regulations, building codes, and Compass Resorts' quality standards.
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate service contracts, and coordinate outsourced repairs when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, inspections, inventory, and equipment maintenance.
  • Collaborate closely with housekeeping, guest, and owner relations teams to resolve issues efficiently before guest arrivals.
  • Respond to urgent maintenance needs and support after-hours emergencies as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of experience in property maintenance, facilities management, or a related field; supervisory experience required.
  • Proven knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, and general maintenance practices.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or trade certifications are a plus.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills suited to a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as required.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive company vehicles.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and after-hours as needed.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Annual Salary: $60,000 - $75,000

Bonus: Annual bonuses are awarded based on performance and merit.

Schedule: Standard business hours are Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, with the flexibility to work weekends, overtime, and on-call as needed.
