Job Description

**Core Responsibilities:**

- Conduct comprehensive assessment procedures under the supervision of a credentialed psychologist or neuropsychologist, ensuring adherence to best practices.

- Employ advanced therapeutic assessment techniques and interview methodologies to gather precise and detailed accounts of patients' conditions. - Screen patients to identify presenting issues and prioritize appointments, executing foundational assessment activities, including initial evaluation and standardized neuropsychological tests. Collaborate with credentialed practitioners to inform mental health diagnoses and treatment plans, while providing educational resources to patients.

- Facilitate specialized treatment and rehabilitation efforts for patients with brain injuries and mental health disorders. Systematically observe, monitor, document, and report on patient interactions during assessment sessions. - Implement precautionary strategies to mitigate risks associated with patient harm, including potential suicide, homicide, or elopement.

- Liaise with military agencies and Medical Treatment Facilities (MTFs) regarding specialized care, treatment plans, and administrative processes. Engage with military or community resources to gather collateral information as necessary. - Clarify and interpret neuropsychological services and procedural requirements for patients and military commands. Assist in coordinating patient referrals to other facilities for alternative levels of care.

**Additional Responsibilities:**

1. Perform targeted assessments based on insights derived from biopsychosocial interviews and psychological screening instruments.

2. Comply with the primary care behavioral health model as outlined in DHAPM 6025.01 and DHAPI 6025.27.

3. Provide evidence-based brief interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to address medical conditions with underlying behavioral or psychological concerns.

4. Collaborate effectively with medical personnel within the MTF to ensure integrated patient care.

5. Deliver patient care within primary care settings (e.g., Internal Medicine, Family Health, and/or Warrior Operational Medicine Clinics), with potential assignments to specialty clinics on a rotational basis.

6. Undertake any additional healthcare-related responsibilities as dictated by Department of the Air Force Instructions (DAFIs), applicable Department of Defense Instructions (DoDIs), and Medical Group Instructions (MDGIs).

**Qualifications:**

**Minimum Requirements:**

- **Degree**: Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD). - 

**Education**: Doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology from an institution accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA). -

**Internship/Residency**: Completion of an APA-accredited internship in psychology. -

**Experience**: A minimum of 24 months of practical experience within the last 36 months in delivering evidence-based clinical treatment in an outpatient clinic or hospital. - 

**Board Certification**: Must hold current and valid national and/or state board certification or board eligibility in the relevant clinical specialty. -

**Licensure/Registration**: Must possess a current, active, unrestricted license to practice as a psychologist in any U.S. state, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

- *Note*: If the applicant is unlicensed but a recent graduate (within the last 12 months) of an APA-accredited program, they may be eligible for consideration contingent upon obtaining state licensure within 12 months of hire. Failure to secure licensure within this timeframe will result in disqualification for the position.

- **Life Support Certifications**: Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC). - 

**Security Clearance**: Ability to successfully pass a government background check and security clearance requirements.
